Squall is the main character of the game. At first Squall is very uptight and afraid to show his true feelings. Untill Rinoa, a leader of a rebal group, helps Squall know that there are people who care for him and helps him become more open to his friends.

Rinoa is a key character in this game. Which is why she’s on the cover fo the game. You meet Rinoa at the dance on the first disk. At times she can be difficult, and even causes the others to end up in some sticky situations.

Quitis is Squall’s former teacher, and now that he’s a SeeD, she’s a partner. Quistis was a SeeD cadet at the age of 15. That’s young considering that most cadets are about 18. She cares about Squall but chooses to hide her true feelings until it is too late.

Height: 5′5″

Zell, being very young, sometimes lacks maturity. Zell mostly relies on impulse, and often shows that he’s an honest and dedicated person. He joins Squall on his SeeD Test to Dollet. With the power of his fists, Zell is helpful in battle.

Selphie has transferred from Trabia Garden to Balamb Garden, so that she can take the SeeD entrance exam. Currently she is the Chairs person for the Garden Festival and needs some help. Her major concern is making the Garden Festival a success.

Irvine has an excellent aim with gun. He’s from the Galbadia Garden, and joins the party to help out on a mission. He considers himself a ladies man, but usually he’s a valuable member of the group. Irvine would have to be one of the best characters to have in your party.

Seifer is Squall’s rival. The two are always fighting and always in the infirmary. Even in the opening CGI movie the two are fighting and when the game starts Squall is with the doctor. Seifer is very cocky and self-exsorped. He has a hard time listening to authority.

Edea has recently started to collaborate with the Galbadia government, but is hiding plans of her own.
